CODAS - operating information system for credit providers as a service

CODAS is an ideal solution for non-banking organizations concerned with credit providing which want to get an effective tool for support of their services, products and processes without spending initial investments.

It is a service developed on the principle of System as a Service (SaaS) which combines quality and proven IT solution with up-to-date and user attractive approach to software using – a user does not acquire a software licence but pays agreed monthly fee for using the service.

The core of the service is the banking information system ELBOS which contains all needed functions connected with credit providing – e.g. secured and not secured credits, payment schedules, multiple credit drawing, all common types of interesting, payment reminders, bank and financial accounting connection etc.

The basic putting this service into operation, which contains necessary set up of individual functions, takes place with the support of the provider.

CODAS covers all functions needed especially for securing the operations of a non-banking credit provider. The service is intended in the way that a user gets the complete solution for managing of the processes – that means technical infrastructure needed for securing the operation of the service at the supplier’s side (server, back-up systems), administration of the whole technology and technical support. At a customer’s side, the own HW infrastructure (computers) and Internet connection are the only things which are needed.

Strengths of our solution

CODAS offers its user plenty of outstanding values and except covering of demanding operating and security parameters it is mainly about following characteristics:

• Low input expenses: CODAS already contains all technological parts needed for its operating and the user of this service has practically no expenses connected with an acquiring of a SW licence and HW infrastructure (data servers, back-up systems). .
• Low and known operating costs: the using of CODAS is paid by firmly set monthly fee (which covers also technical support and updates) and any increasing of the costs connected with the operating does not happen.
• Solution flexibility: CODAS comes out of our information system ELBOS, which is built-up on modular and widely scaled architecture. This allowed us to develop such solution within the CODAS service which covers exactly the requirements of smaller financial organisations. These organisations then can dispose a powerful tool and do not pay for functions they really do not need. CODAS can be described by the proposition "pay only for that you really need".
• Easy and fast acquiring of the service: CODAS has not big demands for its putting into operation and since the needed technical infrastructure is already prepared on the supplier´s side, the complete setting up and putting into operation on the user´s side is then question of much shorter time than in the case of acquiring of a SW licence and its complete implementation.
• All in one: within the CODAS providing we will provide (except technical infrastructure mentioned above) also the operating of the service. That covers mainly closings control, users administration, data back up, database maintenance, update / upgrade of the service if needed. The system and user support (incl. Hotline) is also available within this service for users of CODAS.
• Operating security: the security of the operating of this service is ensured on the level of standards which are valid for banking information systems. The access to the service and its data is possible only after the user authentication. Every user has own individual permissions and it is also possible to restrict the access of current users to current agenda, accounts or other records. The security of the service operating is also assured by its operating in the supplier´s professional and highly secured hosting centre.
• Service accounting character: CODAS disposes fully accounting functionalities and all relevant operations are reflected in the main accounting system of an organisation.
• Legal aspects: CODAS is defined to be used also internationally, while it is implicitly offered in the Czech version which covers legal and technically-operating conditions in Czech republic defined mainly by:
  • Trade legal code 513/1991 Sb.
  • The law of accounting 563/1991 Sb.
  • The law of the protection of personal data 101/2000 Sb.

Technical architecture

CODAS is realized in the modern three-layers architecture:

• Data layer is saved in Oracle database
• Application layer is made of saved database procedures and JAVA programme routines
• Presentation layer for C/S applications is built up in PowerBuilder development environment. They are the applications with standard Windows GUI interface and handling.
